They show how browsing the same web pages with different browsers, or browsing different web pages with the same browsers, can lead to notebook battery life savings as long as 4 hours. While the research is far from being comprehensive, it highlights how both users and developers of software can be as responsible for energy efficiency improvements as the hardware makers themselves.
